Don't forget about temp agencies as a good way to get started in the working world. When budgets are tight and resources are low, companies often hire temps to fill the gaps. It's a good way to get exposed to different companies and different kinds of jobs. You may even discover a profession you hadn't thought about. Often times temp positions lead to full-time jobs.

I agree. And temp agencies also offer flexibility for people who may be new to the working world. It's much better for you to learn that you dislike working in marketing, accounting, etc. in a temp job than after taking a full-time job where you can often feel trapped.

Although, I guess with this level of unemployment, maybe people appreciate feeling trapped a bit because at least it means they have a job? I don't know...
